Kart Fighter (Chinese: 瑪莉快打; pinyin: Mǎ lì kuà i dǎ, lit. "Mario Fighter") is a bootleg versus fighting video game released for the NES/Famicom game console, utilizing the characters from Super Mario Kart. Some background sprites are based on the NES game Little Nemo: The Dream Master and the SNES game Mario & Wario. The title screen music and character select music, are those of the respective title screen music and character select music from the SNES Super Mario Kart.
The cartridge is hard to find, while the ROM can be downloaded from various websites on the Internet. There is no game over screen (although there are buried 'Game Over' graphics inside the ROM). Beating the game or losing the game (and not continuing within nine seconds) displays the high score screen. After beating the game on the highest difficulty, the player also sees 'The End' cutscene.
Kart Fighter's fighting engine is used in some other games such as "Turbo Mortal Kombat II/III", "AV Mei Shao Nv Zhan Shi", and "Yuu Yuu Hakusho Final (NES)".
