Game Overview

Double Dragon (Japan) is that old-school arcade brawler where you punch, kick, and elbow-drop your way through waves of street thugs. You play as Billy or Jimmy Lee—those guys with the ripped jeans and bandanas—trying to save Marian from the Black Warriors gang. The controls are simple (just attack, jump, and the occasional grab), but timing your moves matters more than you’d think.

What’s cool is how the enemies actually react when you hit them—they stumble, flinch, or even go flying off-screen if you land a solid uppercut. And yeah, the co-op mode is where it shines—nothing like teaming up with a friend to clear a path through the city streets, junkyards, and that weird cave level with the falling rocks. Just don’t expect fancy combos—this is pure, chunky 80s arcade action.

It’s got that classic MAME jankiness, but that’s part of the charm.
